Restroom Building at Beaver Hollow

The restroom building at Beaver Hollow is finished! It has a rustic appearance that complements the pavilion and kiosk, and fits perfectly into the natural setting at Beaver Hollow. We are, however, awaiting the installation of an electric line to the restroom building to power the Incinolet “burn” toilet. This was a challenging year for a building project due to issues with product availability and the increased cost of building materials. The Friends persevered, despite impediments, to complete the project. The availability of a toilet facility at Beaver Hollow will greatly increase the utilization of the pavilion for classes and programs.

The restroom building was funded in part by the Four Cedars Environmental Fund of the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation, the toilet purchase was funded by the National Environmental Education Foundation, and the remainder – more than half the total project cost – was funded by generous donations from you, our Friends’ members.
