Michael Joyce will return to Beaver Hollow on Wednesday, July 23rd, to present a program on American Martens at 2 pm in the pavilion. This presentation will focus on the history and current status of martens across the Western Great Lakes Region and highlight recent research aimed at understanding their ecology and population status in Minnesota.

Joyce is a wildlife ecologist working at the Natural Resources Research Institute in Duluth. He has been studying wildlife in northern Minnesota over the last 12 years. His research focuses broadly on wildlife ecology, conservation, and management, with an emphasis on understanding the effects of human activities on wildlife populations and communities. Several of Michael’s projects have focused on American martens and fishers.
